Diva Lounge Productions was founded in 2007 by Sonja Gustafson with the aim of providing operatic performance opportunities for talented graduates of UWO's music program, while creating an accessible and quality operatic experience for the public.

The company's first production of Gian-Carlo Menotti's The Medium was given at the 2007 London Fringe Festival to critical acclaim, winning the Impresario Award (for being the most popular show in its venue) as well as Most Daring Show and Best Performance for Sonja Gustafson. It was also nominated in 4 categories at the 2007 Brickenden Awards including Outstanding Musical Production, Bravest Production, Outstanding Production and won Outstanding Supporting Actor for Alfred Stockwell.

Diva Lounge Productions was honoured to open the 2007/2008 Fridays at Twelve Thirty series at The Don Wright Faculty of Music with a remount of The Medium, turning away more than 100 people from the full 370-seat theatre. The popular production was remounted a second time for 2 performances at Toronto's Arts and Letters Club.

The following two seasons featured works by Mozart (The Impresario) and Argento (The Boor), both given to delighted audiences at the Fringe Festival and remounted at UWO's Don Wright Faculty of Music.  The Boor won a DISH Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Sonja Gustafson.  Diva Lounge Productions currently has two original operas being developed by local London composers for future Fringe performances, so stay tuned!
